Dr. Kengo Suzuki of Euglena Co. participated in the Farmnote Summit held in Sapporo on December 6, 2023. The conference aimed to create social impact through serious discussions among all participants. Since its inception in 2014, this marks the 10th occasion of the event, with a cumulative attendance of approximately 3,500 participants​​.

The summit's agenda encompassed a broad range of topics related to Hokkaido's primary industries and sustainability, including food production, regional promotion, environment, energy, technology, science, startups, and space. During the summit, a panel discussion featured three distinguished speakers:

• Dr. Kengo Suzuki, Executive Officer CTO of Euglena Co.
• Dr. Taku Nakahara, CEO of Metagen Therapeutics, Inc.
• Dr. Makito Sato, Vice President of Humanome Lab., Inc.

The panel was moderated by Dr. Joe Inoue, CCO of Leave a Nest Co.

Dr. Suzuki opened the discussion with a personal reflection titled "The Origin of My Science: Encounter with Euglena in the Laboratory," where he credited the visionary ideas of Professor Jiro Kondo from the 1990s as the inspiration for his scientific pursuits. Following this introduction, Dr. Suzuki presented on the topic of planetary health, emphasizing the significance of cultivating microalgae and microphytes in space for the betterment of Earth's environment and beyond.

The summit served as a platform for these experts to exchange ideas and insights on innovative agricultural technologies and their impact on future sustainability and health.
