From July 27th to 29th, 2023, the “SKS JAPAN 2023 -Global Foodtech Summit-” took place at Tokyo Port City Takeshiba Port Hall. Players from the global food tech industry gathered for this event, with numerous lectures and discussions held in a hybrid format that combined both online and in-person interactions. On the last day, the “SKS JAPAN 2023 After Event” was held at COREDO Muromachi’s Muromachi Mitsui Hall & Conference. This event offered attendees the chance to savor foods created through various food tech innovations while facilitating in-depth conversations amongst the participants.

Participation in SDGs Event, Presenting Space Food Research, and Garnering Attention with Exhibits and Experiences for Elementary School Students!

Tokyo, Japan – July 22, 2023 – Euglena Co., Ltd. participated in the “Mitsui’s Office SDG Fest Exciting Kids World Summer 2023” event held at Tokyo Dome City Prism Hall on July 22nd and 23rd. During the event, Euglena collaborated with the Tokyo Nihonbashi branch of the Japan Space Youth Association (YAC), TakaraTomy Co., Ltd., and TakaraTomy Arts Co., Ltd. to showcase an interactive booth centered around space-themed experiences for elementary school students. At the 3D Image Conference 2022, a research paper on 3D Bio-printing using Euglena received the “Outstanding Paper Award.”

The study was a collaborative effort between Euglena Co., Ltd., the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), the Faculty of Bioresource Sciences at Hiroshima Prefectural University, and the Faculty of Informatics at Nagasaki University. The research confirmed that Euglena, a microalgae used as a bio-ink material in 3D Bio-printing, successfully proliferated within the structures printed by a 3D printer.
